Sixty-two recent GW Law graduates accepted clerkships as part of the Clerkship Class of 2025.
GW Law students have a long history of securing judicial clerkships, including within the United States Supreme Court. Each year, approximately 10 percent of graduates go on to judicial clerkships, including in federal, state, and specialized courts.
This year, 40 of the Clerkship Class of 2025 graduates accepted a position in a state court and 22 accepted a clerkship in a federal court. The clerkships are spread across 15 states and the District of Columbia, with the majority of the clerkships–18–located in Washington, D.C. The second most popular location is Maryland, where 12 graduates have clerkships.
Four graduates, Yolanda Heman Ackah, Elijah Pardo, Shloke Nair, and Sean Hullihan secured two post-graduate clerkships.
Heman-Ackah is currently serving as the Federal Judicial Clerk for the United States District Court Southern District of Indiana under Judge Kendra Klump, and will be serving as the State Judicial Clerk for Justice Matthew J. Fader in the Supreme Court of Maryland.
Pardo is clerking for the United States Court of Appeals, Tenth Circuit under Federal Judicial Clerk Judge Joel M. Carson III in Roswell, New Mexico, and later, the United States District Court of Western Kansas under Judge John Broomes in Wichita, Kansas.
Nair is currently clerking for the District of Columbia Court of Appeals with Chief Judge Anna Blackburne-Rigsby, and will be clerking for United States District Court, District of Columbia in 2027.
And Hullihan will be clerking for the United States District Court of Delaware under Judge Colm F. Connolly as well as the United States Court of Appeals Federal Circuit under Judge Timothy B. Dyk.
Three students, Yolanda Heman-Ackah, Kathryn Nasenbenny, and Selena Everitt, are part-time graduates who accepted judicial clerkships. Everitt is currently serving as the State Judicial Clerk for the Superior Court of the District of Columbia. Nasenbenny will be clerking in 2026 in the United States Court of Appeals for the Armed Forces.
